The Biver Lounge is a place to experience that in a relaxed and approachable manner. ” says Biver CEO James Marks.

This vision comes to life with Biver’s first-ever retail space, The Biver Lounge, which opened this month at Hong Kong’s iconic Upper House hotel. It offers the brand a dedicated environment to showcase its timepieces, connect with collectors one-on-one, and foster a sense of community in one of the world’s great watch-collecting cities.

In order to achieve this, we had to find the best partners to create the right environment. This meant working with our friend and colleague Shoyo Kawamura, a scholar and collector of both vintage and contemporary watches, who quickly identified The Upper House as the perfect home for Biver in Hong Kong. “It is a place where a close-knit community comes alive and that offers hospitality like nowhere else, ” says Kawamura. “Here, the Biver Lounge is a place where collectors can wind down and fully immerse themselves in the passion, camaraderie, and ethos of the Biver brand. ”

This community aspect is central to the Biver Lounge’s mission. By booking an appointment to visit, individuals or groups of collectors can experience Biver watches on their terms, meet some of the people connected to the brand, and learn more about our watchmaking philosophy while relaxing high above the hustle and bustle of the Hong Kong streets and storefronts. They can also go hands-on with our watches, including the Carillon Tourbillon and Automatique models, a rare opportunity to experience them up-close and on the wrist. There is even a microscope on-hand for closely examining the finishing of our timepieces and movements, which only get more interesting the closer you look.

As a family business, it is extremely important for our clients to feel like an extended part of the family, ” says co-founder Jean-Claude Biver. ” This is why our physical spaces are so important – they help us create this warm, welcoming atmosphere and foster genuine connections…We want our customers to feel ‘at home, ’ rather than in a store. ”

Whether you are a Hong Kong local, just passing through on a short layover, or anywhere in between, we invite you to join us at the Biver Lounge following its official launch on the 15th of March. Appointments can be booked by emailing shoyo@jcbiver.com and you can sign up for our newsletter to be notified of upcoming events. We look forward to hosting you soon.
