The historic craft of grand feu enamel is often associated with a more ornate style of watchmaking, but here we utilize the technique differently for a much more contemporary effect. The burgundy red surface has a matte finish and an incredible depth of colour that is paired with luminous hour markers and hands, as well as an 18k yellow gold case, for the right balance of tradition and modernity.

Grand feu enamel is one of watchmaking’s most historic crafts. A matte surface, a rich burgundy red colour, and luminous hour markers come together here for an enamel dial unlike any other – it is a distinctly fresh take on an old-school technique. Each one is hand-crafted by our partners at Les Emailleurs de la Cité, right in the heart of Geneva’s old town.

Calibre JCB-003 is a brand new movement designed from the ground up specifically for the Automatique, with micro-rotor and hand winding, a zero-reset mechanism, and new styles of decoration. It was engineered to be able to drive additional complications in the future and was developed in partnership with Dubois Depraz.

In addition to the Burgundy Nubuck Alligator strap, a matching yellow gold bracelet is available to pair with this watch. Designed specifically to complement Biver watches, the bracelet’s faceted links extend the geometry of the Automatique case, with the same mix of brushed and polished finishes, too. It is crafted to the same high standards as our watches, with each solid gold bracelet containing over 300 individual components and requiring 60 hours to make.
